This licence is for businesses that transport dairy food in bulk containers in Victoria.
You must hold a current dairy carrier licence before you start operating.
Before you apply
Before applying, make sure you understand your legal responsibilities and have the right systems in place. You should:
- ensure your vehicles, equipment and containers are suitable and can be effectively cleaned and sanitised
- have a documented food safety program in place
- have systems for product tracing, including identifying the immediate supplier and immediate recipient of dairy products
- have time and temperature controls that prevent or reduce the growth of microbiological hazards
- ensure staff have appropriate food safety and hygiene skills
- check whether you need additional approval to transport milk for raw milk cheese production.
