Information for dairy, meat and seafood businesses

Safe Food Victoria licenses meat, poultry, seafood and dairy businesses, as well as businesses producing food using new or emerging technologies.

Local councils are responsible for registering and regulating most food businesses in Victoria including hospitals, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, manufacturers and caterers. Melon, berry, leafy green, seed sprouts and egg producers are regulated by Agriculture Victoria.

Safe Food Victoria supports these Victorian regulators to licence businesses.
