Aquaculture licences

What you need to know about aquaculture licences.

Who this licence suits?

There are three aquaculture licences. The species of seafood you grow and harvest determines which licence you need.

You only need to hold one licence — the licence that covers the species you intend to grow and harvest.

For example:

  • If you want to grow and harvest abalone, and also harvest blue mussels, other shellfish and fin fish, get an abalone licence.
  • If you want to grow and harvest blue mussels or other shellfish only, get a blue mussels and other shellfish licence.
